



The mission of the Allasso Foundation is to increase public awareness of the healing powers inherent in creative expression and to use the artistic process and works of art to promote a society free from eating and body image disorders.

Ms. Rudd-Gates is well known for her work in eating disorders and body-image treatment. She has been practicing for over 20 years and has clinical experience including inpatient and outpatient psychiatric treatment for eating disorders. She previously maintained a private practice in Atlanta, Georgia and worked as a group therapist for Ladder to the Moon program, an intensive outpatient eating disorders program. Ms. Rudd-Gates also worked with colleges and universities facilitating body image workshops.
She currently has a private practice in Guilford, CT, working with adolescents, adults and families providing individual therapy, group therapy and family consultations. Her specialties include disordered eating issues, body image treatment, depression, anxiety, life transition and self-esteem issues, trauma and relationship difficulties.
Ms. Rudd-Gates is passionate about the role of art and creativity in the healing process of individuals. Comer is the curator of Hungry Souls & Nourishing Ourselves through Art, an art exhibition of work created by individuals struggling with body image issues and eating disorders. She is also the co-executive producer of the film Bodyspeaks: Finding a Voice through Art Therapy. This innovative film presents the stories and artwork of women who explore, cope with, and resolve struggles with body image, anorexia, bulimia, and compulsive eating.
After producing Bodyspeaks, Ms. Rudd-Gates founded the Allasso Foundation to increase public awareness of the healing powers inherent in creative expression and to use the artistic process and works of art to promote a society free from eating and body-image disorders.
