"As someone with an eating disorder, there is nothing more
dreaded than really having to look at your body--as a whole, without
distortion, with others around you, and yet that was the purpose...my
work is a reflection of the conflicted person I've become...I've
realized that it is not really me--I don't lie, it's all the other
voices, pressures, and expectations that I or others or society
have held out as the ideal way to live life. Sure I choose to believe
them but now I'm filtering out the ones that work for me and those
that don't.
